Staying Grounded

Humankind once thought flying was out of reach—until the Wright brothers took to the skies in 1903 with the first true airplane. Since then, aviation has soared, reshaping everything from global travel to supply chains to the way wars are fought. Today, aviation is expanding faster than ever, and flying can be either a passion or a career for those with the time, commitment, and resources to pursue it. But with the thrill of flying comes the responsibility of safety, especially in general aviation.

While some accidents result from unavoidable “force majeure” mechanical issues, a significant number are linked to pilot error. Staying on top of safety topics is crucial for every pilot, and for me, it's a priority. Reviewing these lessons regularly helps me internalize them—because it’s far better to learn from NTSB reports than to become the subject of one (knock on wood).

That’s why I’ve dedicated a section of this blog to aviation. It’s mostly a place for me to keep and revisit my own notes, but if you've stumbled across it, welcome aboard! I hope you find these insights helpful as I aviate, navigate, and communicate in the friendly skies!
