Wine Critic: “Offering terrific fruit purity and vibrancy, the wine shows passionfruit, mango and lime zest aromas on the nose, leading to a superbly concentrated palate that's dazzling and delicious. It's instantly appealing with exuberant fruit flavours and refreshing acidity. At its best: now to 2022. Score - 94.” (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, June 2020)

Wine Folly: From "Wine Folly: Magnum Edition: The Master Guide" by Madeline Puckette and Justin Hammack, it is noted on page 382 that Sauvignon Blanc grapes are very herbaceous. It is high in acidity and semi dry. It is noted that this type of grape pairs well with salty cheese and Asian food. Dominant aromas include gooseberry and grapefruit.

My Thoughts: Today I am drinking a white wine from New Zealand. Tiki Estate Sauvignon Blanc was recommended by people at my local wine store. This bottle is from the 2020 vintage year. It sports an untraditional twist off bottle cap. First impressions: delicious. I did not have high expectations going into this bottle but it is legitimately really good. The flavors are complex and I enjoyed the crispness and the acidity of it. It is very light and represents a nice Sauvignon Blanc. I smell grapefruit, gooseberry, and grassy notes. I served it at 45 degrees without decanting.

I was in a hurry today so I paired this with instant ramen. The broth was spicy and umami and the wine complemented the noodles well. I added an egg to the dish and the spicy protein was great with the wine.

I give it an 84/100.
