Wine Critic: “Dried strawberries with spices, such as cloves and peppercorns, as well as some dried flowers. Medium to full body with a pretty core of ripe pinot, fine and linear tannins and a long, fresh finish. Needs time to open, but vibrant and attractive now. Drink after 2023.” - James Suckling, 94

Wine Folly: From "Wine Folly: Magnum Edition: The Master Guide" by Madeline Puckette and Justin Hammack, it is noted on page 350 that Pinot Noir grapes are known for the red fruit and spices. It typically has low sweetness and tannin level compared to other reds. This grape sports medium-high acidity. Because of these traits, Pinot Noir has great versatility in food pairings. The Wine Folly recommends pairing with duck, chicken, and pork. Dominant aromas include cherry, raspberry, and cloves.

My Thoughts: Today I tried a bottle of Pinot Noir from Napa Valley. Napa Valley has always produced top tier reds so I was excited to try this bottle. This bottle is from the 2019 vintage year so it has been maturing for a few years at this point. First impressions: awesome. This wine is very earthy and fruity. Aroma-wise I smell peppercorn, cherries, strawberry, and oak. It has a great structure and medium high acidity. This bottle is tastes classy with a medium body and a nice finish. This bottle sets an example of what a nice Pinot Noir tastes like. I purchased a bottle and plan on opening it in a few years to see how the taste changes.

I give it a 88/100.
