Chashu Pork
For quite a while now, I have had a ramen cooking obsession. I took this recipe from u/ramen_lord on Reddit and adjusted it slightly to my preference. Here it is:
Cut pork belly into suitable pieced to roll into shape. Keep in place with butcher’s twine.
In a pot, combine 1 cup of water, 0.5 cups of shoyu, 0.25 cups of mirin, 1.5 tbsp brown sugar, 2 cloves garlic. Simmer pork belly for 100 minutes, turning every 25 minutes.
Add meat and sauce to instant pot. Cook on manual pressure for 20 minutes with the butchers twine on.
Cool down in fridge to firm up and cut! Make sure you enjoy the sauce with a bowl of rice.
